Junior Scrapateers: Creations from Princess Al, Princess Isa and Princess Ellie

Hi everyone, it’s Angie here and I’m really excited today because we have some beautiful layouts to showcase from three of the Junior Scrapateers! Firstly we have this page from Princess Al:

Princess Al says, I love the theme of this kit. I couldn’t wait to use all the fun sea animals, and I always love scrapping pics of my brother.

Princess Al used Life Under The Water Kit to make this super-fun page. I absolutely love how Princess Al has featured the photo in the middle with all the underwater scenes framing along the sides. It very much reminds me of being under the water! The pops of red are perfect too. Fantastic work Princess Al.

Next up we have a page from Princess Ellie using the One Lump or Two Bundle Pack:

Princess Ellie tells us, I liked this kit because it looked like it would be fun to use with the dress up picture of me and my sisters when we were younger. I like the colors and the fun tea party elements and had fun using them.

I agree, the dress up picture is such a good choice to use with this kit! Princess Ellie has done some beautiful shadowing on her layout too and I love the scatter of tea party elements through the center of the layout. I really adore the composition of Princess Ellie’s layout and how she has even done some photo treatment to the photo on the right.

And last, but certainly not least, is this page from Princess Isa:

Princess Isa says, I love computers and music and ipods, so I wanted to created a collage, so I decided not to use any photos, because I already liked the way it looked.

Princess Isa shows us, using the Technogeek Bundle, that sometimes you don’t need photos to tell a story. I love all the little details in this layout, such as the headphones around the heart, the USB cable running along the bottom and the pieces of wordart which she uses to tell us the story. Princess Isa did an incredible job on this photoless layout!

I hope you all enjoy these beautiful creations from the Junior Scrapateers as much as I did!

Cinco de Mayo is coming…

My family and I love Mexican food.  We really, really love it! It’s on of the few menu “genres” that we can all agree on.  The Mexican foods that are staples of our family’s menu rotation tend to be simple to prepare and budget-friendly.  I have a Pinterest board that I use as a reference.

A couple of years ago, in an effort to streamline my menu-creation process, I came up with a system.  This system helped with coming up with ideas for the menu and it also helped the kids know what to expect for dinner.  They get really annoyed when I alter the menu.

Sundays are Super Sundays – this is the one elaborate meal I make all week.  We typically have a roast or steaks or something similar.

Mondays are Macaroni Monday – we eat some kind of pasta, unless we decide to eat Mexican food then it becomes Mexican Food Monday

Tuesdays are Taco Tuesday – we eat some kind of Mexican food

Wacky Wednesday – we eat breakfast for dinner or try a new recipe

Thrifty Thursday – we typically eat leftovers or try something new

Fun Friday – we usually make pizzas or something creative, unless we decide to have Mexican food again and then it becomes Fiesta Friday!

Splurge Saturday – we usually go out to dinner or buy ingredients for homemade sub sandwiches.  We splurge on the good lunch meat.  Boar’s Head all the way!

This year, Cinco de Mayo falls on a Monday so we are altering our menu and having Mexican Monday – we will probably still have Taco Tuesday.  We love chicken enchiladas with red sauce.  So, I think we will be having those along with Mexican rice (I buy Vigo or Mahatma Spanish rice), black beans and  sopapillas.  I may even break out my tortilla press and make fresh tortillas for the enchiladas.  My girls love to help squeeze the press and see the tortillas that come out.  Our efforts may not look great, but they sure do taste amazing!  I recently realized that I haven’t taken any pictures of our Cinco de Mayo celebrations, so I’ll add that to my to-do list this year.  I haven’t ever really researched the meaning behind Cinco de Mayo, so I did that earlier this week and was really interested.  If you are like me and just like the food, check out the history, too.

We are kind of lame and don’t ever have guests or entertain… ever.  BUT, if you are more exciting than we are, you can use my digital scrapbook kit, Viva La Fiesta, to make your invitations and other party favors.  My cute team member, Melscrap, created the cutest invitation:

Use coupon code: Mere_5deMayo to take 35% off your purchase of Viva la Fiesta.

Offer expires May 5, 2014. Coupon will not work with any other sales, special offers or discounts. Using this coupon code will reset the prices of all other products in your cart to original price. Please check out with only this product in your cart.

What’s on your menu for Cinco de Mayo?  Feel free to share a link to a pin and I’ll repin to my board!  You can never have too many Mexican food options in my opinion! :)

Fantabulous Friday: These Boots

Recently, I was browsing through all my “old” photos of my girls and I realized that I hadn’t ever scrapbooked the story of The Pink Boots.  My older daughter has always LOVED shoes.  When she was little, if my parents went on trips, they would buy her a pair of new shoes- usually ones they thought would embarrass me.  The pink boots backfired, because I LOVED them!  And Hannah thought they were the greatest shoes of all time.  She cried when we took them off her.  She used to sleep in them!  After Hannah grew out of them, I packed them up and saved them for the next baby.  When Ainsley was finally old enough to wear them, she wasn’t too sure about them.  She only wore them a few times.  But these little cowgirl boots have such a tender little spot in my heart. I just knew I had to create a kit so that I could scrapbook these photos.  These Boots digital scrapbook kit was born.  I hope you love it as much as I do!

My Creative Team had a great time with this kit, too.  Lynnette used These Boots for photos of her daughter riding a horse.  (And she has cute pink boots, too!)

Ophie used These Boots to scrapbook her daughter’s Western Day at school.  It looks like she loves her boots as much as my Hannah. :)

Tracey used These Boots to scrapbook about her niece’s first pony ride.  I love clean & simple Tracey’s layout is.  The emphasis is really on her sweet photo.

Jen used These Boots to scrapbook her adorable Peanut enjoying a fun day of mini-golf and games!

And this page… I just don’t even have words for how sweet & adorable Lenka’s baby girl is!  Look at those cheeks and that precious smile! She is so sweet that she makes me crave another baby.  Tell me you don’t want to kiss those cheeks!

I’d love to see your pages with These Boots!  Upload your layouts to the ScrapPin gallery at ScrapOrchard with #mere for a chance to win a $5 coupon to my store.  Once a month I choose a random layout created with my products to win a coupon.  It would be fun it were you!

I have a couple of fun freebies for you!  Click the image or download link below to grab the blog freebie and head over to Facebook to snag the freebie there.  It’s on my freebie tab.

These freebies are only available for a limited time, then they will be added to my store at ScrapOrchard.  Sign up  for my newsletter to get an additional 15% off your purchase of These Boots.
