Monday at Mere’s: Card Challenge

Hi there,  my name is Sara and I am one of Meredith Cardall’s Creative Team members.  I am here today to push you to get your digital scrapbook holiday cards created and printed to share with family and friends.

I have found that sometimes ordering the generic cards that some stores offer is not as fun as customizing my own.  Cards are not just for the holidays but can also be created and sent to family and friends throughout the year with updates and photos.  Being a Military Family, our relatives often miss out on the little things that happen with us and our children.  This gives us a way to celebrate each of their little achievements as well as giving family a keepsake they can keep with them and share with others.

I create my cards in a 4×6 format so they are easy to print and easy to send.  I purchase my envelopes (Invitation size) from our local store and these cards fit perfect inside and also look professional for sending.

So now for the Challenge!  Take the template and use it to create your card.  It does not have to be for the holidays, just use it as you please.  You can even change it and make it a 6 x4 card by rotating the template 90 degrees.  Please use at least 50% of Meredith Cardall Design products (Freebies also work!).  Upload this to your favorite gallery, come back here to the blog and post your link in the comments! On November 14th, one random winner will be chosen to receive a free kit of their choice!!!

Here is a preview of the Template:

I hope that you find inspiration in this Challenge.  Thank you for taking on this challenge and I look forward to seeing your card creations!

DigiNews: Cut-Away Calendars

Happy Friday!  It’s finally the weekend!  It is the last weekend of fall soccer.  Does it make me a bad mom to admit that I am grateful?!

This weekend, I have a couple of unique calendar templates for you.  Have you ever created calendars and then felt like at the end of the year you had nothing to show for it? These templates are a fix for that problem!  When your calendar is finished, it will measure 12×18 inches. To assemble the calendar, take one of your already finished (or new if you want) layouts and slip it into the template.  Decorate the binding strip and the bottom cut-away strip. Print your calendar.  ((I highly recommend using Persnickety Prints. They’ll even bind your calendar for you!  Did you know that they can now print on cardstock?)) At the end of the month or at the end of the year, simply trim off the top binding area and the calendar area and you have a 12×12 layout to slip into an album.

The first set of calendars are really basic! They let your layout capture the attention of your gift recipient.

Cut-Aways: 12×18 Basic Calendar Templates, exclusively at 9th&Bloom

The second set of calendars is a little bit more pretty and elaborate.

Here are some sample calendar pages that my Creative Team pulled together.  I think they did a fabulous job!  ((Some of the products used are not by me or are retired products that are no longer available.))

New Products & Free Gift!

Hi Everyone! I had a great weekend at the Scrapbook Expo in Utah last weekend. If you missed it, you’ll be able to pick up some of the kit CDs I had there soon at A Page 4 All Seasons. Be sure to check out that site for some really cool project ideas and absolutely stunning paper scrapbook kits. The quality of their kits is absolutely unparalleled. I have been hard at work this week to bring you a brand new kit, a mini album and 2 12×12 albums! I hope you will see something that you like!
First up, we have my first Halloween Kit of the year! This is my more muted tribute to one of the most fun holidays of the year! I have a really bright one that I am hoping to finish up for next week, too! All of the doodles are hand-drawn by me in Illustrator. There are no jagged edges (although there are some rustic edges… on purpose!) And when you purchase this kit this week, you will get the Boo Templates absolutely free!

Spooktacular available at ES

I have a free coordinating gift for you this week as well! I am getting in the Halloween mood so I started making Halloween projects! The other night, I whipped up this treat bag topper just for you! It fits a sandwich size Ziploc zipper bag. You can always scale it down to fit smaller bags.

Download treat bag toppers here

Check out these amazing samples by a couple of my CT members!

Next up, I have two QuickPage albums. The first coordinates with my Austen Kit and the second with my Emma kit.

And last up today, I have an adorable little QuickPage album that I designed for my niece Gracie’s Baptism. (Hi Gracie!!!) Gracie is a sweet and tender-hearted little girl who likes to be a girly-girl, but she also has a little bit of a sassy side. This album captures that feeling with bold colors mixed with soft colors. This album is intended to record memories of an LDS baptism and probably wouldn’t be appropriate for a baptism for another faith, as it uses faith-specific terminology. You can see more detailed photos in the preview at Elemental Scraps. I am hoping to have a boy version as well as larger versions available in the coming month!

Also, don’t forget that all of the September Color Play items are only $1 at Elemental Scraps thru the end of September. On October 1st, they go up to $2 each!
